ecotourism in Guadeloupe

• General:
• Carbon compensation to have any action on global warming *.
• In the field of electricity:
  • The hot water is only by the sun (solar water heaters equip each bungalow and the main house)
  • As replacements lamps, prefer solar if possible, otherwise low consumption lamps (LED when available) (we are already at 85% of solar or LBC)
  • At change or other electrical appliances buying only the best energy class
  More generally
  • always choose the least energy
  • Do not use air conditioning and install ventilators and provide upstream during construction or farm work in the natural ventilation
  • Limiting lighting unnecessary or redundant and therefore provide timers and provide lamps dynamos
• In the field of water:
  • Use to irrigate only rainwater (we invested in the recovery of rain and watering by micro-spray)
  • Verification and maintenance of septic
  • To end 2008-2009 purification "clear waters" and recycling irrigation (with delivery to our tenants cosmetics (soap, shampoo) labelled Cosmebio BIO, maintenance products the most environmentally friendly as possible (biodegradability, not harmful to aquatic life ...)
• In the area of waste:
  • Upstream decrease packaging prefering large packages, by purchasing recharge, purchase only recyclable packaging
  • For the work use wood red (from properly managed forests whenever possible-which is difficult at this time in Guadeloupe) rather than pine Treaty (which is a waste because of heavy metals)
  • Make recycling beyond what we proposed in our town halls where composting, recycling of cans, plastic bottles, boxes retains through association An Nou Ay, batteries, computer hardware etc. ... (Guadeloupe all recycling options exist but it is the transport to processing units that does not exist for the moment)
  • Make available to our tenants bags of race and insulated reusable bags for not using plastic bags
• Miscellaneous:
  • In the garden not use chemical pesticides or chemical fertilizers, only compost and macerations made with plants in the garden.
  • Focus planting native plants of Guadeloupe (excluding orchids)
  • Limiting the maximum use of tools or gasoline-electric
  • No Wi-Fi because of the harmful effects of electromagnetic fields, but availability of a computer connected to the internet
  • Respect for the ecosystem that surrounds us, respect for people, to ensure that this is the local population that benefits from back economic tourism, respect for our visitors.

* We are carbon neutral.
For all our personal or professional activities we produce greenhouse gas because of the use of non-renewable energy.
The principle of compensation is this: what we can not diminish to where we live maybe decreased else on the planet.
In the case of Orchid's dream Lodge that carbon offsetting any concerns our consumption of electricity, fuel (private + professional) and for the year 2008 we added all journeys AR airport / park our tenants! We're more than carbon-neutral.
Your Holiday in Le Parc aux Orchidées have no effect on global warming unless you have anything to do!
